A Banner Added To The Profile Pages

At Present "No HTML" At The Wetpaint Wikis.

No Worries, This Is An Easy Enough Thing To Accomplish.

Find The Area On Your Sites Where You Can Actually "View" The Complete Banner Image.

Right Click The Image and Click "Save Image As" or "Save Image" or Whatever Your Computer
Has To Be Able To Save an Image To Your Computer.

Save The Image As A Photo In Your Pictures or In Any Folder of Your Choice.

Visit Your Profile Page Here At The Wiki.

Click "Easy Edit".

Click The Open Text Area With Cursor and Click "Photo".

Click "Upload Photo", "Browse", Choose Your Photo, This Case The Banner Image ;)

Name Your Image, Add Title, Add Description, Keyword Tags, Change Image Size.

Next Is Where You Can "Link" The Image To A URL.

Social Network Marketing Dead Links Will Come

Dead links will come. It will happen, as many this year alone have created and deleted or created and changed URL redirections along the way, it is inevitable that links, content, and entire sites will be
known as dead links. This may pose a bit of a problem for search engines, link interactions, web sites,
blogs, and social networks with the onslaught of dead links or deleted sites.

Pownce, the colorful podcasting "shout out" style site,seems to have fallen into this category of sites
going by the wayside as has Google Lively, the 3D Avatar creation and interaction site. Both of these designs will call it quits as of December 2008. Did these two sites just fall through the cracks of not
enough advertising? They both had an interesting, unique design that drew an initial crowd, but what happened?

Sad realities of the Internet with one being creators can and do make brilliant designs, programmers
and site managers weave their magic into a welcoming environment, then the amount of daily hustle
and bustle invariably makes or breaks that site.

The time, energy, and resources spent on the upkeep of just one great site is rather staggering once
you include the monitoring of (especially if it's a social interaction or member fed base site), new
content additions, the social slice of members you actually attract, the financial costs, and the
countless other incidentals involved in running a site, system, or business.

The next major stepping stone for the Internet seems to be a consolidation of sorts. A regrouping from
mass choices, multiple social networks, blogs, forums, or sites to a sub page system of sorts where mini sectors of major sites dedicate space to less active gathering places across the net.

The concept of a wiki comes to mind here. A handful of the front runner sites like MySpace and Twitter
with straight connections or "sub pages" directly linked to some of the better (though smaller) social networks and sites. A directory of sorts with a larger "parent" site.

The inevitable future of "ghost sites" is not just looming in the mist, but has arrived. At its infancy at
present I believe, but it will soon grow at a rapid, near alarming rate until the flow crests and ebbs.
The adjustment will occur in a wave fashion of realization, cleanup, and restructure. Maybe there
exists the adage at present "too many cooks spoil the broth" or "too many writers and not enough
readers" to place it all into reality.

The cleanup stage will entail filing, deleting, and reconfiguring sites on the basis of need, interaction,
and mainly based on the decisions of the web masters. In this decision process to discard or continue
with a site, web site creators might consider these questions: Can you relocate this information? Are
you better served and are your readers better served by condensing your sites into one main hub? Who
will you be affecting and how will this be a hindrance or help to them? Work positively toward the end
result you are seeking. Be certain you are creating ease and not discord. These tips will make the
upcoming transitions easier on all Internet users and creators.

A major theory I am a firm believer in is avoid deleting information from the net, yes restructure and consolidate, but if you have secured a space on the net, think twice before deleting the spaces content completely. Consider using this space for another project down the road or incorporating it into a sector
of an existing site as long as the content and meaning remain the same.

If your intention is to redirect the content meaning, do so with much thought. Taking original content out
and replacing it with a new shiny label may work for the short term and give the "flash" temporarily, but in
the end it is still a white washed facade.

Blogs and social networks will be an active part of the Internet for years to come, trends will emerge,
fads will be rushed, but the sites and people who stick out the restructure will become some of the
great sites on the world wide web.

Project Playlist and Humble Voice are two outstanding sites. Project Playlist has been around for some time and in my opinion is the leader in widget based, carry your music to your blog or web site, music creator list based sites

Having a newer version that you can choose at Project Playlist is yet another update of the Internet Blogs and Social Networks World that I find notable. Project Playlist is now easier to navigate and now you can have your blog area to blog away about music or whatever. With 100 songs per playlist and as many separate lists as you want to take to any site via the Project Playlist HTML widgets, this sites portability and choice are hard to beat. Gain buddies, search for music by artist or title, use the pop out features of any playlist when you want to listen in, but not remain glued to the site.

Artists, Writers, Promoters of Creation, Book Writers, Web Designers, Video Artists and more have an Artist Guild if you will now for gaining viewability in an Artist forum, with other artists, by other artists, and surrounded happily with other artistic creators with Humble Voice.

Humble Voice on the other hand is still presently in Beta but watch this site grow by leaps and bounds! This is not only a music based site but an “Artist” site. A well thought out site for the “Arts” not only musicians and listeners but for photographers, videographers, writers, and “Creators” in general When creating your initial profile here at Humble Voice, you can choose between a photographer, writer, musician, videographer, artist, or other. Editing your profile is an optional detailed adventure (which I highly prize, this will give viewers a larger view of you and your work) or you can skip things and just tell a bit to keep it brief.

Humble Voice has options to send messages, add friends, instant message right from the site (this will save you from having many other messaging systems open and focus more on the site you are on :), forward your profile to friends, bookmark, or block other users for privacy. Choosing photographer, musician, artist, or writer allows you to add on multiple pages for a bit of a “web site” creation to showcase your imaginations.

A new area just opened up under Cloud Spire! Are you brave enough to venture here?
SpineWorld is geared toward the younger crowd (20 and younger) with a set up and Virtual

What can social bookmarking sites do for you? How do they work? and How do you pick the ones
that will work for you?

These are good questions to be sure, but what questions should you ask yourself before choosing
your personal social bookmarking sites. Let’s begin with a short list to get you headed on the correct
path. What do you want from a bookmarking site? Are friends a big draw for you? Are you primarily
wanting to focus on page ranking? Would you like more exposure to your individual posts? Do your
most recent posts need more attention or the front page of your site? Are you up for a popularity contest
or are you seeking content related ratings? Would you like a few social bookmarking sites to focus on to really make an Internet difference in exposure or just one? Do you have one blog, social network, or site and want many social bookmarking sites? Or do you have blogs and social networks or other sites and
want to focus on a few social bookmarking sites?

To shed some light on the answers to these questions and possible more you would really need to research the masses of social bookmarking sites available to Internet users today. I personally have checked into a few of the major and minor players in the social bookmarking sector of the net and will
list a few of the ones I have found useful.

Claim ID

Claim ID is a free sign up site. After setting up your personal visitors profile page, viewers will see
a photo and a bit of a bio on you along with your compilation of sites you have entered. This list has
areas for descriptions of the sites you add and the link is live and takes the visitor directly to your site.
It is sort of an all inclusive “What sites do I have to offer” page which some call a link resume. Verify the sites you list as this will gain you credibility. Claim ID and Open ID are fairly simple sites and an easy way
to manage your online presentation identity of hyper-linked URLs.

Yahoo Buzz

Yahoo Buzz is a social bookmarking site where stories are ranked by your votes. Submit your own
stories to the Buzz or just hang out and vote on other members submissions. The voting system at
Buzz allows voters to vote up or down on any given story to promote or take away promotion of a story. There is a complete FAQs section at Yahoo Buzz that will answer navigation, system, and other
questions. Buzz is people driven and popularity on your chosen stories is a must for high ratings.
I found Buzz to feature celebrity and political stories highest. If you have a Yahoo email account, you
are just a click away from getting involved with Buzz.

MyBlogLog

One of the bigger social bookmarking sites, MyBlogLog, is also owned by Yahoo. This site is also
user driven as far as popularity of sites on MyBlogLog. Your creation personal profile area has a
listing for all your personal sites from social networks, blogs, or any web site that you could want to
create a list and subsequently a “Group” for. Inputting each of sites at MyBlogLog then creates a
“Group” for that site that other members of MyBlogLog can join. Sub groups with the head being a
web site. MyBlogLog also has an area to list your social networks under “Services”. This list creates
a feed from each of these sites and services and posts the actions right on your viewable personal
profile page. Visitors who come to your MyBlogLog site will be able to view all of the submissions you
have made to your entire list of sites and services right from your home page. Again, a similarity to a
link resume but with a higher interaction level than with Claim ID on the friending side.

Ma.gnolia

Magnolia is a social bookmarking site with the plus of a Wiki. My first impression here was a feature
of Art and Photography. The video tutorials on the roots section are a must and the discovery searches
and friend capabilities here at Magnolia are also a big attraction to this site. Keeping your sites together collected on a social bookmarking site like Magnolia allows you access to your favorites anytime no matter which computer you are using. Finding out what others like and enjoy and then sharing your bookmarks with your friends who have the same interests as you is one of the many highlights to this site. Magnolia makes the social side of social bookmarking work better.

Bloglines

Bloglines tracks your favorite news, blogs, weather, and classifieds so you don’t have to. This social bookmarking site allows the user to read, save, and share all in one place. Getting in line with what Technorati has to offer may take a bit of time to navigate around and learn the system, but well worth the effort if this is your end run result.

Social bookmarking sites like delicious have a system for running the tags or keyword phrases all together. As opposed to “work at home free trial”, they would run the words together and use workathomefreetrial as the actual keyword phrase or tag. Zimbio will gain exposure to individual posts from the blog sites you list with them by categorizing each post into a separate Wiki. That is really what some social bookmark site do, gain you more exposure to your posts and sites.

Social bookmarking sites can be social featured and driven like Technorati or Digg or just for your personal favorites and listing uses. Furl is one for you personally as is My Bookmarks and Blink List. These sites are for you to store your favorites and have access from multiple computers. Clip Marks lets you “clip” the section of the page you wish to save or bookmark rather than the entire page. A paragraph, sentence, image or video. Game developers are increasing the time spent on statistics figuring out how to leverage and apply growth to social networks by introducing new and competitive games, creating a subset of gamers in the social networking arena of the Internet. Global reach has unlimited the geography factor by initializing influence to an audience if infinite proportion. While gamers have always been cloned into a bundle, class, or faction of their own, seemingly separate and disconnected from the masses involved in the online social networking movement, I say gamers are the force behind the socialization age of technology.

Generally speaking, although there are exceptions, it is easier to stay "in touch" with our teenage daughters than it is with our teenage sons. On the surface, it may not appear so, but how often do you get to really talk with your growing son? How much one on one time do you get? And I don't mean from the stands of a sporting event that he is participating in.

There are several ways to accomplish this major goal as a parent. You could go hiking together, camping, fishing, but these are usually "Dad" times to bond. Some Moms do this as well, but I found something that is fun, a bit challenging, and just about anyone can do it. Now, this is for the Mom whose boys enjoy video games and are completely brilliant at them, getting bored easily because they beat the game so quickly. Ask them to teach you how to play, be very interested, and genuinely wish to learn!

The easiest game I found, and the one my son taught me first, is Dungeons and Dragons Heroes for the XBox. It is a two player game, comes with a tutorial that you stay in until you have it all figured out and learn the controls, the graphics are pretty good, and will retain your sons interest for enough time to get you started. The choices in the two player game catagory are very limited, but after you master Dungeons and Dragons Heroes, try another XBox game called Baulders Gate Dark Alliance 2. This is a more challenging game that will hold both you and your son's attention a bit longer as there is an awesome side quest to find soul shards. As you get more comfortable with the game systems, you start incorporating other topics into your conversations besides just the games and "which button do I push?" Before long, he will start to tell you important things about his day or even his thoughts. Understand, that if he is really good at the games, for him, it is a relaxing, no brainer activity, and those are the most opportune times to get to know who your son really is.

Yes, it might be a lot of work to learn something new, or you just don't have time, or it is too hard. OK, this is not for everyone and certainly there are other ways, but this way works And you obtain a skill to boot! Trust me, video games Are a skill! Some help with History, like Age Of Empires will give you is a big plus. Age Of Empires is a PC game that comes in different eras. A brilliant learning tool on the Roman Empire and tactical maneuvers, while you learn better to interact with your son.

Or, you could choose a racing game, like Mario Cart! It is a benefit to their later driving abilities and found with the Nintendo systems. Haunted Mansion is an XBox figure it out puzzle type game that boosts your thinking and reasoning skills. Even Fable, which is absolutely brilliant by the way, shows them morality as they and you journey through life. Fable and Haunted Mansion are one player games, but you can help him figure out the puzzles in the Haunted Mansion, and with Fable, the beautiful graphics are like watching a movie play out by your sons hand.

The best part of this adventure through gaming, other than the main purpose of getting closer with your son, is when you can play the cool old stuff we used to play, like Pacman and Gallaga. Nintendo has these for their system. Your son might say that the graphics are a bit on the lame side, but you will enjoy the play time together, no matter how short.

Don't wait for them to want to do something with you, it may not happen right away. And, offering to do something with your son out in public is not always received with great eagerness. This is at home, no one has to be informed that your son is "hanging out" with his Mom, that is, until you get good and then become a bragging right for your son! Well worth the effort at that point!

You can spend time online at Amazon, or drive down to EB Games or Gamestop for inexpensive, used games. There really are only a few select "greats" that never get old. Enjoy your new skill and the new relationship with your son!

dungeons.

Start off with a choice of basic skills. Choose three different ones with choices
like swordmanship, magic of all kinds, alchemy, and fishing.

As you continue through the wilderness meeting players, battling monsters,
finding ancient tomes of wisdom be sure to keep a keen look out for some
special players!

The most skilled player in the game though not the highest level (timetogonow)
is a very intense and highly adept player.

The expert on the player market (Alturia Raven) is a colorful female with skills a
plenty. She is up to date on the prices of items in the player market.

Alturia's significant other (Jayce Atkins), they are hardly ever apart, he is the magic
man and knows the location of all the scrolls and is a magic man with knowledge
of spells.

The Master of Arms (CanadianWarrior), he makes the game easier with his vast
knowledge of the game play, because of the quality of his character and person,
he is a friend to all and if he doesn't know it, timetogonow does.

The man to speak with of the tomes and mines (Graganor), if he doesn't know, it
doesn't need to be found.

(Wyverex) also known as Nail or Helper, he is an expert on Monsters and Leveling,
also quite the knack for making money outside the player market, cha-ching.

Also (Vagabond) is THE CREATOR! If you find him on the map.... consider yourself
blessed. He is the originator and freely hands out birthday cakes on your birthday
and random items throughout the holidays like SANTA HATS!

Ogre Island is a brilliant free MMORPG! and well worth the time it takes to level up
and then it is enjoy your time playing, making friends and conquering the island.

Update: I messed up a bit when writing this article about the entertaining site Ogre
Island. An awesome player, networker, and now friend has fixed a few of my mis-types :)
I quite appreciate the help from Jayce Atkins, I want to get the correct news out about
what I think is the most perfect World of the MMORPG Ogre Island. Here is what he wrote
to me:

"The most skilled player in the game AND the highest level (smasheytwo/smashey) is a
very intense and highly adept player.*

Alturia Raven is a very skilled and is also in a 3 way tie for "highest level"....she is no
expert on the market seeing as she has quit playing.

Alturia's "significant other" is Frazerblu, who is the 3rd person in the 3 way tie for
"highest level" and has many skills up to 90 - 100

Jayce Atkins IS a master mage who knows practically everything about the magic
system, spells and very in depth details. He also has been playing beta since the 2nd
week and is very knowledgeable of the game in general, and like Alturia has a very low
tolerance for "retardism"

Dunno if you could call CW a "master of arms"...but other than that, you hit the nail on the
head...very nice and genuine person.

Vaga...Words can hardly describe him. He is a little bit of everything. He has a good sense
of humor, but you never want to cross him. But if you find him on the map, its the opposite
of what you have, consider yourself still a common person, as he is always on the game
tinkering. He hasn't handed out birthday cakes ever.....if he did they are still a mystery to
everybody but yourself and nothing has been handed out on the holidays for a couple years.

The biggest tip I or anyone could give you is to read everything on

OgreIsland.com before you actually create a character. Also, visiting

Luy.50webs.com for an intense look at some additional instruction will

give you a much greater chance to enjoy the gameplay, get involved in

meaningful chat sessions, and actually survive this game.

If you don’t have a feel for the game in advance, you may not be happy
with the skill choices your character has, you won’t really have a basis to
decide which race, weapon and trade skills, or name you even want.

Let’s start with your character name. Capitalize the first letter of your new

characters name, but it is best not to put your whole name in caps and typing

all in caps is just common sense for any chat room or forum. It comes across

as you are shouting, and shouting isn’t pleasant.

Get comfortable with clicking around and explore Ogre Island to discover things
as you go along.

Start in the towns of Binxonia (Binx) or Plymouth Warf (PW). Under Leaf is one of
the PVP (Player vs Player) towns and you might find yourself in a battle. You will
want to level first. Binx and PW are quite large towns and will give you a great deal
of room to roam and discover banks, potion vendors, homes, woodland creatures, dungeons, crypts, and mines.

Being friendly and courteous of other players is a must in any social situation and
will make your time spent at Ogre Island great fun.

Requesting free items from high level players is never a good idea. They worked
very hard to acquire the items they have. …Now, that being said, they have been known “to lend a hand” from time to time. Don’t beg and you might be one of the
lucky ones that gets that helping hand. In order to stand out in Ogre Island present yourself as pleasant but keep in mind that the other players are also trying to have
fun and actually play, so keep your questions to things you cannot readily find on
this site or the others mentioned here.

Getting to level 4: With your chosen weapon, seek out the wildlife like deer,
chickens, seagulls, crab, and squirrels. Or try to finish of an Imp or two. With your
trade skill choice (sheep shearing, lumberjacking, mining, tool or weapon smithing
to name a few), shear, chop wood, or mine your way to level 4. Or do a combination
of the talents, but get to level 4 while you get familiar with the game.

When you “do away” with the local wildlife, items will appear in a floating chest above your dead. Click the item and then click again to drop it into your own chest to the right of the playscreen under character inventory. Be sure to do this quickly, as there may be more critters attacking you.

The more strength you have, the more weight you will be able to carry, endurance increases your natural stat restoration or how fast your HP, MP, and Stamina
regenerate while you are standing still, dexterity increases your melee defenses, speed increases your attack speed slightly, intelligence allows you to learn spells
from scrolls and use enchanted weapons spells, and magic allows you to cast certain level spells.

So, put your focus points in HP first, then according to your skill choices.
Now what, I am at Level 4, I need money? Ok, you need money, this is how to get it:
Go in and out of the noober dungeon in Plymouth Warf a few times. Sell your items
that you pick up at any vendor by placing the item in the little box in the lower right hand corner (says Sell).

Get a horse to ride and a packy as soon as you can. It makes travel much faster
and easier and it doubles your money making abilities allowing you to hold more vendor-able items between trips from the dungeon to the vendor.

Save, Save, Save for a 4c weapon of your choice or a 4c trade tool if you wish to specialize in the trades, but it is best to get the weapon first.

Weapon skills include sword which is encompasses all bladed weapons like Katana, short and long sword, Rapier, and the Kryss. Mace skill is self explanatory. Ax skill,
also self explanatory. Then there are the ranged skills. Each ranged weapon has its
own skill. The short bow, the long bow, and then the cross bows are all meshed together and you need to locate arrows for use. The spear skill, not really worth
doing. The dagger skill, the fastest weapon skill in the game, but the least damage doing.

Armor choice, because you come into the game basically in an undershirt and pants,
or without any Armor at all, you will need to purchase some Armor. Here are your choices: Mage Armor will be made yourself with the tailor skill or bought from other players for about 2k to approx. 80k (give or take what the player asks for, don’t quote me:). Mage Armor is the weakest melee defense Armor but has excellent magic defense.

Archer Armor is a bit more expensive than Mage Armor, but gives better melee defenses along with ok magic defense, but is the best Armor for someone who does not know exactly what skills they will have in the future.

Metal Armor or Warrior Armor is heavy first of all, do not carry around needless pieces of this type of Armor because it will cause you to be weighed down and moving slow. This Armor is absolutely the most expensive but you can make it yourself with the Armor smith skill. This, along with the other Armor comes in many different types,
each type granting better defenses than the previous starting with Iron. Moving to Silver, Gold, and then Titanium. Titanium grants interesting magic defense as well
as insane melee defense but is quite costly and cumbersome.

Trade skills, please don’t believe that they are not important because they will be
later, just not early in the game so much unless you are a lumberjack to build your home, or a tailor to make your own Knick Mage Armor. As you play, think about what skills go together (like mining and smithing, shearing and tailor) and decide which
trade skills you want to learn.

Once you level to 15, a whole new area opens up for you to explore safely, it’s called Huntington (and the surrounding areas). Print the map found on the community screen, it’s the whose online visual map, it will help you immensely.
